Drying Time

Huemiller Superior Wood Stain & Sealant normally dries in 24 hours when applied in temperatures of 50 F (10 C) to 85 F (29 C). High humidity may prolong drying time. It is not recommended to apply this product if rain is expected within 24 hours. Applies in minutes. Lasts for years.

Where To Use

Huemiller Superior Wood Stain & Sealant is recommended for use on exterior wood fences, decks, arbors, gazebos, siding and other vertical, rough wood surfaces. It may be used on new wood, pressure-treated wood, weathered wood, and wood already coated with a solvent-based clear or semi-transparent stain. Color may vary slightly depending on type and age of your wood.

Surface Preparation

Surface must be clean, dry and free of all dust, dirt, mildew, oil and other contaminants. Clean weathered, dirty or mildewed surfaces with a wood cleaner/mildew remover before applying this product. Stir thoroughly and often during use. Test a small hidden area prior to application to ensure acceptable appearance and penetration. When using more than one container of the same color, intermix to ensure color uniformity. Apply one thin coat with a high quality natural bristle brush, roller or paint pad, or with spray equipment. To help avoid lap marks, apply to only a few boards at a time, keeping a wet edge. Always back brush during application to ensure optimum penetration and uniformity. Do not thin the formula. Apply when air, product and surface temperatures are 50 F (10 C) or above. Avoid painting in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.

Precautions

Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with this formula may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after each use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed water-filled metal container. Keep away from heat/sparks/flames/ignition sources. Do not smoke. Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Avoid skin and eye contact.

Ventilation

Provide fresh air ventilation during and after application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches, nausea, dizziness, or loss of coordination, increase fresh air, wear NIOSH-approved respiratory protection or leave the area.

Warning

Reports indicate that repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents may cause permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by concentrating and inhaling contents may be harmful or fatal.
